Kristina M. Hernandez is an Associate Attorney at Mehlman Jacobs, LLP focusing on all aspects of nonimmigrant visa matters. Prior to joining Mehlman Jacobs LLP, she managed the nonimmigrant visa (NIV) department at a corporate immigration firm in Houston, TX. Her practice covered all phases of the NIV process including filing H-1B, L-1, E-3, and TN petitions, responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), and drafting motions and appeals. She provided consultations, guidance, and strategic analysis to corporations and individuals regarding NIV, IV, and consular processing matters.
Kristina has advised and trained employers on I-9 compliance, STEM OPT compliance, and other corporate immigration matters. She has also been invited to speak at universities and AILA regarding various immigration topics.
Kristina received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Houston and earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. Before entering the practice of corporate immigration law, Kristina represented clients in personal injury suits, assisted in contract disputes, commercial and business litigation, and provided administrative counsel and litigation services for healthcare professionals across Texas.
Kristina is currently serving on the Board and is a recent Past President of the Mexican American Bar Association of Houston (MABAH), one of the largest Hispanic legal organizations in the state of Texas. She has also been elected as a Fellow to the Texas Bar Foundation.
